We're engaged!!!

Brian proposed tonight! I can't believe it. I am so happy I could just burst.

Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope all your Christmas dreams come true, just as mine has.

Photo-a-Day: Princess and deviled eggs!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve!!!

dec 22 - Sweet Princess

dec 23 - My first attempt at deviled eggs. I went a little crazy with the paprika, but they are yummy anyway!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Photo-a-Day: Doorknob, boots and tree

Happy Monday, kids!

dec 19 - I'm not sure what my sudden fascination with doorknobs is, but I just realized that we have some pretty cool ones in our house.

dec 20 - The day the world changed. I went for a walk in the snow and actually enjoyed it, thanks to YakTrax!

dec 21 - We're leaving for my boyfriend's mom's house on Christmas Day, so we didn't put up a full-sized tree, just this little table-top guy. As an aside, I love that this project also gives me the freedom to play in PhotoShop as much as I want, since I'm only trying to please myself. I like how the colours in this one came out muted, and feeling like an old picture found in a box somewhere.

Willie and a Tulip!

My handsome, but very grumpy, old man Willie.

Our awesome neighbours gave us flowers again. Tulips in December!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We finally did some Christmas decorating last night! I took this pic this morning, of one of those gold and sparkly grapevine ball ornaments. *swoon*

My workspace

Just thought I'd share this pic of my workspace.

It's okay to admit you're jealous.

Life is but a bowl of cherries!

Just an old pic of some delicious cherries given to us by our awesome neighbours. :D

Our year-and-a-halfiversary!

Yesterday was our year-and-a-halfiversary! We celebrated by going out for an awesome supper at The Keg, and then I propped my cam on top of my shelf to get a pic of us, and cut off the top of Brian's head. Note to self: Find a nice backdrop, and invest in a tripod. So yeah, I know it's a horrible photo, but thought I'd share anyway, since we both look pretty darned happy, and that is what I wanted to capture. So mission accomplished. :)

'tis the season!

A very emotional few days for Brian's extended family but, in the spirit of finding joy in simple things, I got my first winter Timmy's cup! Oh-so-grainy photo courtesy of my Blackberry cam. :)

Flowers and a pretty building

Our awesome neighbours gave us flowers again. Aren't they gorgeous? I think they're irises, right?

Brian's mom and step-dad were in town for the weekend, and we took them to Niagara-on-the-Lake on Saturday. I snapped this pic of the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor's Information Centre while we sat on a bench outside the Just Christmas store. It's like time stands still in that town.

A few pics with the  new camera.

Our sweet girl, Princess.

Our handsome boy, Harley.

My honeybear (Don't tell him I told you I call him that. He'll deny it.):

Funny story. I was sitting on the floor playing with (and obviously taking pictures of) the dogs, and noticed my reflection in this doorknob. It's funny what grabs your eye, but I think this is one of my new faves! Yup, I'm a weirdo!

I love autumn! I love the colours, the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet, and Hallowe'en!

Brian surprised me by picking up costumes for the dogs! Say hi to Princess Snow White, and Spiderman! Aren't they hilariously adorable? (Click on the pictures to see bigger versions!)

We went to a doggie costume party slash fundraiser for the rescue today, at the off-leash dog park. So many dogs, and so many people adoring each and every one. See on the far left, the black, red and blue dot? That's Harley. Part 1 of 3.

See on the far left, the black, red and blue dot about to whiz past me? That's Harley. Part 2 of 3.

See the tiny black dot smack dab in the middle of the frame? That's Harley. He LOVED being able to just run his brains out, and man, did he sleep when we got home! Part 3 of 3.

Not one to partake in such frivolous things as running one's brains out, Princess Snow White was content to hold court and receive adulation from her loyal subjects.

I tell ya, I was hoping to get some great pics of all the dogs today, but they moved so fast I usually ended up just getting their butts on their way by me! There were so many cute costumes, including Aunt Jemima, a caterpillar, a taxi, and this bumblebee.

Both our dogs came to us via Pugalug Pug Rescue, in Toronto, Ontario. Today's event was to raise money for one pug currently in foster care and in desperate need of serious medical care. The donation jar was full to the brim, so hopefully Winnie will get all the help she needs before moving on to her forever home. We did our part today by making a donation, and buying the super cute shirt Harley is modeling here. Unfortunately, they only had the shirt in a Medium, and nothing more Rubenesque for Princess. Maybe next year.

And, last but not least, I thought I'd share this one a friend took with my camera tonight. I was demonstrating the wonders of my new Gary Fong Puffer pop-up flash diffuser. Hee!

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! I can't believe it's November already!!!
